AI Audit Services

An independent review of where AI belongs in your business.

An AI audit is a structured, vendor-neutral review that examines where artificial intelligence is being used, proposed, or avoided across a business. It classifies each use case against operating conditions and risk, and gives leaders a written basis for deciding what to pursue, pause, or stop before further implementation.

Who this AI audit is for

Established owner- and executive-led businesses whose leaders are being pushed toward AI adoption and want a clear, independent read before committing capital, people, or reputation.

It fits leaders who value discernment before deployment and want a review conducted by an AI & Operations Partner, not a vendor with a product to sell.

What the audit examines

  • Current and proposed AI use across the business, including shadow tools already in staff hands
  • The business decisions each AI candidate is meant to support
  • Data access, exposure, and third-party dependencies
  • Ownership of AI outputs and accountability for errors
  • Human-review, escalation, and fallback expectations
  • Operating readiness across Capitalization, Capabilities, Capacity, and Connections

How the evaluation is structured

1. Frame the business decision

We start with the decision the leader is trying to make, not the tool under consideration. AI is scoped against a specific operating outcome.

2. Inventory candidate use cases

We catalogue proposed and in-flight AI use cases across the business, including shadow tools already in use by teams.

3. Apply the Four A's

Each candidate is classified as Automate, Augment, Advise, or Avoid based on risk, reversibility, human-judgment requirements, and operating readiness.

4. Test operating conditions with 4C

We evaluate Capitalization, Capabilities, Capacity, and Connections around each candidate to see which the operation can actually support today.

5. Identify guardrails and ownership

For anything moving forward, we specify accountable owners, approved inputs, human-review checkpoints, escalation paths, and fallback plans.

6. Produce a discernment summary

Leadership receives a written summary of what to pursue, what to pause, what to avoid, and what preconditions must exist before implementation.

What leaders can expect to clarify

  • Which AI use cases are worth pursuing and which should be paused or stopped
  • Which decisions must remain with a human and cannot be delegated to a model
  • What must be true operationally before an approved use case is enabled
  • Where the business is exposed by tools already in use without governance
  • How to sequence responsible AI adoption over the next planning horizon

AI audit vs software implementation

An AI audit protects the decision. A software implementation executes one. Both have value, but confusing them creates the exposure most leaders are trying to avoid.

AI Audit (TCC)

  • Starts with the business decision and operating conditions
  • Vendor-neutral; no tool resale or affiliate incentives
  • Classifies work using Automate, Augment, Advise, Avoid
  • Names owners, review, escalation, and fallback before build
  • Outputs a discernment summary, not a purchase order

Software Implementation

  • Starts with a chosen platform or vendor scope
  • Compensated on license, seat, or build volume
  • Focused on features, integrations, and configuration
  • Governance and human-review boundaries assumed, not designed
  • Outputs deployed software, regardless of readiness

Frequently asked questions

An AI audit is a structured review of where AI is being used, proposed, or avoided in a business. It classifies each use case against operating conditions, risk, and human-judgment requirements so leaders can decide what to pursue, pause, or stop.

Established owner- and executive-led service businesses that already run real operations and are being pushed toward AI adoption by vendors, staff, or clients, and want an independent, vendor-neutral read before committing.

TCC does not resell software, take vendor referral fees, or bundle implementation into the audit. The engagement is designed to protect the leader's judgment, not to justify a build.

Current AI use, proposed use cases, shadow tools already in staff hands, data and access exposure, ownership of outputs, review and escalation paths, and the operating conditions required to run each candidate responsibly.

We evaluate vendors and models only in the context of a specific decision and its operating requirements. We do not publish vendor rankings or endorse products in the abstract.

A written discernment summary that classifies each candidate use case using the Four A's, names the operating preconditions and owners, and identifies the most responsible next step for leadership to consider.

Yes. TCC is based in Charlotte, North Carolina and serves established business leaders across the United States remotely.
